It's been a long few days. If you missed my last post, we learned at our 20 week ultrasound last Thursday that the baby has multiple cysts on his/her left kidney. That's about all we know. We don't know what this could mean. We don't know if there is anything else wrong. We don't know how many cysts are there. We don't know if there's a chance they'll start showing up in the right kidney. We have a lot of "don't knows" right now.
Hopefully this afternoon we'll have some answers. We see the maternal fetal specialist doctor at 1 this afternoon. We're both nervous. I worry we'll come out of the appointment with more information but less answers. I realize that this could be something that will have to be monitored for the next four months until the baby is here. We're of course hoping that the tech was wrong and that the baby's kidneys are perfect and both functioning, but we're also trying to be realistic and prepare for less than great news. It will be what it will be.
So if you're reading this, please send a little prayer up for baby Swan #3. Ad a prayer of peace for us wouldn't hurt.
Today is the husband and my 7th anniversary so we're hoping that means good news is coming our way. I'll share the news once we know something...
