Our Flock

{Update as of September 2015} 

Thanks for stopping by my little corner of the world - I hope you enjoy your time here!  And now,  I'd like to introduce you to our flock:

ME:  Hi!  I'm the Mrs. Swan.  I also go by Mama.  And some other names that we won't mention here. I'm in my early 30s.  (34 still counts as early!) I'm a momma, safe-beauty advocate, and lawyer living in Macon, Georgia. My husband and I met in law school 10 years ago, lived in Atlanta for 7 years and moved to Middle GA for my husband to pursue his dream job in the Fall of 2014.  My law firm has loaned me out to a firm client and I'm currently an acting in-house counsel for a Fortune 50 company. You can occasionally find me over at 360 Parenting where I write about being a working mom with TWO kiddos...soon to be 3.  I'm no expert on the topic -  it's been on the job training all the way...with lots of bumps and hiccups along the way!  When not knocked up I drink lots of wine (Malbec and Pinot Noir are my top 2, with Albarino thrown in if I'm in a white wine mood) and eat as much sushi as I can get my hands on. I swear way more than I should.  I love running and yoga but don't do either often enough.  My husband makes me laugh every single day and I may have deep laugh lines when we're old, but at least we'll still be laughing.  My two sons (who you'll meet in a hot second) are the light in my life.  I'm a lucky girl and I thank God every night for my many blessings. I'm pregnant with our first baby GIRL who is due mid-January 2016.  This has been a rollercoaster of a pregnancy, but we are hopeful our sweet baby Bridget will be with our family in January and just as healthy as can be.

 

  MR. COB: My husband! Ain't he cute!  This was on his 30th birthday a few years back.  Here's the readers digest version of our history: We met in law school, graduated in 2007, took the bar exam (I won!), traveled around Europe for 2 weeks (Brussels - where we hope to live one day, London & Paris), moved to Atlanta, got married in 2008, welcomed our first baby boy in 2010 and had another boy in 2013.  I did break up with the man on our first date and he's never let me forget it.  You can read the details of our initial love story here.  Mr. Cob hails from the midwest and loves soccer, brewing beer, comedy and music.  He has a foul sense of humor, but it's one of the things I love about him.  He landed his dream job a year ago and I am so proud of him!   Oh, one more thing about this man.  He is the best father.  I fall in love with him more and more each day as I watch him with our boys.  We are lucky to have him.  If only he'd start putting his dirty socks in the clothes hamper.

LUKAS:  Our sweet little guy was born in November 2010.  He is the first love of our life. He has been an active baby since before he was born.  I think he was dancing in the womb and he loves to dance today.  He's a hilarious toddler today and I love the things that come out of his mouth - whether it's telling me he loves me, asking for a "huggie" or declaring that he was just over at Superman's house playing games.  He has us laughing on a regular basis.  He will be 5 years old soon and I don't know where the time has gone. He is an inquisitive little guy, always ready for a question! I have a feeling I have a lot of research in my future to keep up with this little man's questions about life. He loves being a big brother and is a pretty awesome one at that (although he does love a good wrestling match with Julian!) He's my constant reminder that life is a miracle and we should cherish every single day.  It's a true joy being his mama.

JULIAN: Juju as he's often called, was born in July of 2013 - so he is in his TERRIFIC TWOS!  Oh what a social little butterfly this guy is.  He is talking up a storm and is my wild child. He definitely has spunk! He generally loves all things Lukas and is usually following his big brother around and repeating everything he says or does (thankfully Lukas doesn't seem to mind his mini-me).  He is still not consistently sleeping through the night, but he gives us a good week or two stretch every now and again!  He's generally an all around happy guy.  He did have a rather flat head and wore a helmet for a little over 4 months during his first year - you can read all about that here.  (He has a nice round head now!)  It is really hard for me to remember our family before Julian joined us - it just feels like he's always been here!

BRIDGET: Baby girl Bridget Starr is due to arrive on January 14, 2016. My pregnancy with her has been full of ups and downs. We're ecstatic to be expanding our family and just pray that she is healthy and gets here into my arms in a few months!

WRIGLEY: Our sweet rescue dog.  She's an Australian Shepherd mix.  And we've been told her age is anywhere between 4 and 10.  She's the best dog with little kids and lets Lukas climb all over her!

BAILEY ANN: Bailey is our ten year old kitty. She rounds out our busy household!
