TTT - Diaper Rash

Today's tip is on the practical, good to know side. I'm not sure how I learned this gem of knowledge, but it's helpful when your little one has a red, bumpy bum.

If you're combating diaper rash, rinse your wipes in water before wiping your little one's bottom. The water will reduce the sting that the wipe causes when your kiddo has a rash. And no sting = less/no crying, which is always a good thing in my book.

It works best to keep a bowl of water next to the changing table so you're not having to run to the sink during the changing. (warning: don't leave baby/toddler unattended on changing table!!!)

And, of course, load up on the diaper cream after using your rinsed wipes. My faves are Desitin Max and Aquaphor. I've heard great things about Triple Paste, but haven't used it myself. Or, I mean, on Lukas.
What diaper rash tips do you have??

  1. When the boys had awful, awful diaper rash, I called the pediatrician. They told me to mix equal parts of super duper desitin (or anything with lots of zinc), cornstarch, and lotrimin. That lotrimin is EXPENSIVE, but oh my goodness this stuff is like goo of GOLD.

  2. Thanks for the tip Ali! I'll have to remember this one for the future. I CANNOT wait until diapers are a thing of the past....
